far away friends came down to visit
Yesterday feels like a long time ago. It always happens when I do a lot of stuff in a short time.
A friend who I haven't seen for at least 10 years happened to be visiting Lisbon, so we hung out a lot. It's a great feeling to be able to pick up where you left from with a good friend after such a long period.
Working from home and being a foreigner have the huge downside that making friends is really hard. Unfortunately the few people I connected with since I've been here, have had to leave.
It gets lonely sometimes, but occasionally people visit, and it gives me a bit of energy back.
I'm grateful that I have been able to maintain strong friendships even at these distances, scattered all over the world as my friends are.
Just wish I could see them more often.
