I have a new addiction.
On Friday The Gnome™ and I met up with a few friends for an evening walk. As the weather warms up, the nights are pleasant albeit with a cold wind you can easily shelter yourself from.
The downfall started when we started speaking of all the horrendous things we ate in our teens. With icecream in hand the topic ultimately fell on Monster energy drinks.
I mentioned that although I was a fiend for them back in the old days, I've not had one in atleast a decade. Wistfully I mentioned how despite seeing all the memes about white Monster, I'll probably never have one.
Shook by this revelation, the group made it a point that on that very night The Shopkeeper was going to experience the glory of white Monster.
We prowled the streets. I had the Horrorist's Mission Extacy playing in my head. 🗣️🔊 WE'RE ON A MISSION, BECAUSE I LIKE FUCKING DRUGS!🔊🗣️
We befell upon a shop. One of us at the counter, the other four standing behind. No one was going to be left behind.
After some small talk with the owner, we stood outside and cracked the can.
This thing is so good. Not only is the can giving Silent Hill vibes (grey on white, foggy low resolution patterns), but it's also textured for an excellent drinking grip. The flavour is citruss-y, orange-y, kinda of Guarana-y, with a light fizz that makes it crisp on the tongue. Both refreshing and stimulating.
We stood there giving our reviews as we passed it around. Eventually conversation shifted and the night continued on. As we walked the lesser known streets of Lisbon, with the calçada reflecting golden sreet lights I realised that within me a new urge was becoming manifest.
I have a problem now because that thing was good.
